Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz have split up after nearly two years of dating, her rep confirms to Gossip Cop. We're told she's now "focusing on positive things like music and work" after the "difficult" breakup. Michele, who will likely return to "Scream Queens," is currently working on a new album.

It was actually on the music video set for song "On My Way" that Michele and Paetz met. The two quickly became inseparable. Paetz was the first romance for Michele following the July 2013 death of her boyfriend and "Glee" co-star Cory Monteith.

The two seemed happy for some time, which probably prompted an entirely erroneous report from OK! that Gossip Cop busted three week ago. The tabloid claimed Paetz "proposed over the holidays," and noted how Michele "burst into tears." The magazine went on to wrongly allege that the actress and singer got the "blessing" to marry Paetz from Monteith's family.

Despite being involved with Paetz, Michele always paid her respects to Monteith, who died in a Vancouver hotel from an overdose of heroine and alcohol. On the second year anniversary of his passing, she tweeted, "Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so."

Michele has not mentioned the split on social media. However, based on her Twitter feed, she's getting through the "difficult" breakup by doing yoga but and surrounding herself with her friends, including Emma Roberts and former "Glee" co-star Becca Tobin.
