Roger Federer wed his longtime girlfriend Miroslava "Mirka" Vavrinec in his native Switzerland Saturday, he announced on his Web site.
"Earlier today, in my hometown of Basel, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, Mirka and I got married," wrote the No. 2 ranked tennis champ, 27.
"It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion," he continued. "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Federer wish all of you a Happy Easter weekend.
In March, Federer, a 13-time Grand Slam winner, announced he and Vavrinec, 31, a former tennis player, were expecting their first child.
"Mirka is pregnant and we are so happy to be starting a family together," he posted on his Web site. "This is a dream come true for us. We love children, and we are looking forward to being parents for the first time. Mirka is feeling great and everything is going well."
The pair met at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where they were both competing for Switzerland.
