Have a hankie at the ready when the 54th Annual Grammy Awards get underway Feb. 12 -- because Adele will grace the stage and sing for the first time in nearly five months!
In a Tuesday statement, CBS announced that the beloved "Someone Like You" singer, 23, will make her hugely anticipated return to live performance at the awards fest, broadcast live from Staples Center in Los Angeles. The British soul singer canceled a slew of concert dates and other live appearances nearly five months ago when doctors urged her to undergo vocal chord surgery, with subsequent mandatory vocal rest.
"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's GRAMMY Awards," said Adele, nominated for six awards in major categories. "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."
Hosted by LL Cool J, the Grammys will also feature performances by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Glen Campbell with The Band Perry and Blake Shelton, Coldplay and Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
