As the busy mom of two kids under age 6, actress Ali Landry has mastered the fine art of keeping her family's bustling day-to-day life scheduled and on track, and that's just how Landry prefers it. "I'm definitely a disciplinarian mom," Landry, pregnant with her third child and due this summer, tells Us Weekly. "I'm pretty strict and I don't let [daughter Estela, 5, and son Marcelo, 20 months] sway me very much."
Though Landry, 39, tells Us regimented parenting works best for her, the former Miss USA -- married to film director Alejandro Monteverde -- recently learned that Estela isn't always a fan. "My daughter just filled out a questionnaire at school as part of my Mother's Day gift and it had all these questions, like, 'Is your mom silly?' [Estela said] 'No.' I was like, 'I'm not silly?' She said, 'No, Papa's silly.'" Landry recalls to Us with a laugh. "I guess we all have our rules."
As much as Landry plans out her kids' after-school activities and nighttime routine ("dinner at 5:30, bath at 6 and they're in bed by 7pm," she says), the actress always carves out special time on the weekends so she and Monteverde can bond with their kids. Something that's especially important, the busy mom says, as the family prepares to welcome a third child later this summer.
"On the weekends, my husband and I make it a point not to [overly use] cell phones, we don't have business meetings and try not to do that many events. We really focus on the kids and doing fun things in and around Los Angeles," Landry explains. "We go to museums, parks, festivals. I look on all these websites to see what's happening for family activities. We do fun things with them and we all enjoy that. [People] always say that a kid's never going to remember all the things you buy them, they're going to remember the time you spend with them, so I try to keep that in mind."
