Anna Paquin will sleep when she's (un)dead. The True Blood actress, 30, is having a high point in her career at the moment, with the hit HBO series poised to return for its sixth season in June and a fourth installment of the X-Men franchise due out next year. Being able to achieve this level of success, however, has come with one huge sacrifice: Her beauty rest.
"Sleep's not a very big part of my life right now," she tells the June issue of Angeleno magazine. "But that's fine. It's kind of part of the deal."
"This is one of the jobs where you don't get to pick the timing, and when it rains, it pours," says the star, who welcomed twins in 2012. "When there are interesting things happening and interesting people you want to work with, you kind of jump on it and figure out the details, which thankfully have all kind of fallen into place. And then I've had a really, really awesome last few months."
In addition to playing the part of "danger magnet" Sookie Stackhouse in the Louisiana-based series, Paquin has also taken on a new role in recent months -- that of mom to a twin son and daughter with husband (and True Blood costar) Stephen Moyer, 43.
Earlier this month, the famously private couple was spotted with their tiny 9-month-old tots at a pal's low-key bash in Malibu, Calif. just one day before Mother's Day. Moyer, who tied the knot with Paquin in summer 2010, is also father to Billy, 12, and Lilac, 10, from a previous relationship.
Despite her lack of sleep, however, Paquin couldn't be happier to be where she is in terms of her career, and feels "blessed" to be able to do what she loves every day.
"I've been really blessed," she tells Angeleno. "I've never really been drawn to things because I wanted to be famous or huge or anything … I feel like [choosing creatively interesting projects] guided my choices a lot and I've consequently been drawn to people who, in the best possible way, kind of kicked my ass, because I didn't want to be the weak link."
