PHOENIX (AP) — A New York man indicted in Arizona on charges that he made Twitter threats against two national newscasters over their Jodi Arias coverage began his alleged tirades on the same day a prosecutor announced he planned to try again for the death penalty against Arias.
The details are found in a probable cause statement obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.
David Lee Simpson of Bath, N.Y., was booked into jail in Phoenix on Wednesday evening after being transported here by Maricopa County authorities from New York.
He faces three felony counts of computer tampering and two counts of stalking.
Arias was convicted of first-degree murder May 8 in the 2008 death of her boyfriend. The same panel failed to reach a unanimous decision on life in prison or the death penalty.
