Actress Ashley Judd has thanked fans for their support after her race car driver estranged husband Dario Franchitti was injured in a terrifying crash at the Houston Grand Prix in Texas on Sunday.
The three-time Indy500 champion was racing towards the finish line on the last lap of the IndyCar Series event when his vehicle collided with fellow competitor Takuma Sato, sending Franchitti's car soaring into the air before slamming into a fence.
Franchitti was hospitalized with a concussion, two fractured vertebrae and a fractured right ankle, but will not require surgery, according to The Associated Press.

Sato walked away from his wrecked car, while 13 spectators were hit by flying debris, according to Houston Fire Department officials.
Judd, who reunited with Franchitti after a brief split in January, has since taken to her Twitter.com blog to address fans' fears, insisting her estranged husband will make a full recovery.
She writes, "Thank you for the prayers for (Franchitti) I have only clothes on my back & the dogs but that's all that we need & we are on our way."
