Bale, Leo win SAG supporting prizes for `Fighter'

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "The Fighter" co-stars Christian Bale and Melissa Leo have swept the supporting-acting honors at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for their roles in the boxing drama.

The wins Sunday lift their prospects at the Feb. 27 Academy Awards, Bale as an ex-fighter whose career unraveled amid drugs and crime, Leo as the domineering matriarch of a boxing family.

"Boardwalk Empire" took two TV awards, best dramatic ensemble and best actor for Steve Buscemi. Alec Baldwin won his fifth-straight prize as TV comedy actor for "30 Rock," while 89-year-old Betty White was picked as best TV comedy actress for "Hot in Cleveland."

Julianna Margulies of "The Good Wife" won for TV dramatic actress. "Modern Family" earned the TV comedy ensemble award.
