Brad Pitt is giving off an air of contentment these days, which he chalks up to being inadvertently unplugged. "Well, two days ago my BlackBerry fell into the toilet," the A-lister tells German newspaper Bild (via Celebitchy) about why he seems so relaxed. "I'm suddenly offline -- a calming experience."

But another reason for his serenity might have something to do with his domestic fulfillment with Angelina Jolie and their six kids. At least that's the word from Hello! magazine (via Celebitchy), which says that, despite an avalanche of tabloid stories to the contrary, the tot-surrounded twosome are solid.

"First of all, none of the stories are true," a confidant assures the mag. "Without exaggeration, there's just not one word of truth to any of them."

Especially ridiculous, according to the source, are the headlines claiming Pitt is back in touch with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston (or, as last week's In Touch couched it, "Brad's Intimate Texts to Jen: He confesses he still has feelings for her -- and is tired of living a lie with Angelina").

Scoffs the insider, "If you actually knew them you'd know how dumb that is. Brad hasn't talked to Jennifer in years. I mean, truly, they have no communication whatsoever, and not because they are angry but because they have just moved on the way divorced people move on."

(That seems to contradict what Aniston and Pitt have recently said on the subject. "We don't not talk," Jen told the January issue of GQ. "When there's something to congratulate or celebrate, there's always an exchange. But there's no charge on it." Brad echoed her statement in the February issue of W, saying, "We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don't see how there cannot be [that]. That's life, man. That's life.")

Anyhoo, the mole adds that Pitt was especially annoyed with Star's March cover story about how Jolie supposedly "flipped out" after she found him sitting next to the nanny in a bedroom.

"It made him sound so empty-headed and foolhardy, and that is so not who he is," asserts the source. "But this is what happens when they're not always out there in the public eye. People make up stories about them just to keep them in the news."

The Jolie-Pitts have maintained a lower profile in recent months (she's been filming the thriller "Salt" in New York while he's been embracing dad duty on Long Island), but not even their affectionate, glam-overload red-carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival last week for the premiere of the actor's "Inglourious Basterds" has managed to quiet the rumor mill completely, which has left one of his relatives perplexed.

"There are people who actually think Brad and Angie sit down over breakfast and say, 'Okay, here's the plan: let's be seen holding hands and kissing in Cannes. Then, people will think we're happy when, secretly, we're actually fighting. Yeah, that should do it. That should pull the wool over their eyes!'" the miffed family member tells Hello!, before concluding, "Let me be clear: If they were not happy they would not be together."
