Britney Spears' relationship with Jason Trawick has been five years in the making.
The pop star -- who turns 30 on December 2 -- began working with Trawick in 2006 when she was still wed to Kevin Federline. "Britney has liked Jason for a long time," a source told Us Weekly in April. "The fact that they were great friends gave them a foundation for a solid relationship."
Spears told Us she "made the first move" in 2009, and as their relationship grew, Trawick, 39, took on a father figure role. "Jason is just amazing with the boys," Spears -- mom to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James -- raved. "They look up to him so much -- they adore him. He's their hero."
Adds the source: "Jason looks at those boys as his own."
Despite Spears' A-list status, she and Trawick prefer low-key activities.
"We have such a great time together!" Spears told Us of Trawick. "He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves. We like to stay home, order in, watch movies, go to dinner with friends. And we love getting away for the weekend."
Given their compatibility, will Spears walk down the aisle for a third time with the former William Morris Endeavor Entertainment agent?
"Maybe," she told Us. "Never say never!"
