Whitney Houston unveiled the cover photo for her new album on Wednesday.
The singer's long-awaited comeback album, I Look To You, will be released Sept. 1.
It will be Houston's seventh studio album. Her last album of original material was 2002's "Just Whitney."
Arista Records held a listening event for the CD on Tuesday, and more events are scheduled in NYC and L.A. next week.
Before the six-time Grammy winner planned to release a new album, the star had been making headlines more often for her erratic personal life rather than her music career. (She sought treatment for substance abuse and split with longtime husband Bobby Brown in 2006.)
But in February, record industry icon Clive Davis told MTV News that Houston was ready to return to the spotlight for her singing.
"You wait for the great songs to be written," he said. "The great hits Whitney has given to the public for so many years -- you keep encouraging and setting the bar."
