No welcome wagon here!
Will Smith is New York City's newest part-time resident, but unfortunately he's already upsetting his Soho neighbors.
The 42-year-old actor, who's currently filming "Men in Black III," has parked a mega mobile estate on a small block in the hip Manhattan neighborhood, and is truly living "Big Willie style."
The New York Post describes the massive two-story abode as "larger than most two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments in the city, clocking in at 1,150 square feet. The specially designed ride nicknamed "The Heat" includes a lounge with a bar, a movie room with a 100-inch screen, marble floors throughout, offices for his assistants and writing staff, a large bedroom, and an all-granite bathroom. It measures about 53 feet long, has 22 wheels, and weighs in at around 30 tons. The gaudy creation is a product of Anderson Mobile Estates. With the push of a button it can double its height in just 30 seconds and sells for just under $2 million." Smith is renting the trailer for $9,000 a week.
Also on site is another trailer (55-feet long) with a full-size gym.
But despite its impressive stature, it appears that "The Heat," along with its superstar lessee, are receiving some of their own heat from the local residents.
"The smell that comes along with it is disgusting," one resident tells the Post. "It's like living in a gas station.""How would Will Smith feel if I parked that thing out in front of his house?" steamed another resident. "People forget this is a residential neighborhood, not a film lot."
To add salt to the wound, in addition to his mobile Manhattan quarters, the actor is renting a five-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom apartment in the same neighborhood for $25,000 a month.
