Conan O'Brien Mowed Down in Late-Night

Entertainment Tonight, Monday, November 8, 2010, 10:34pm (PST)

Conan O'Brien made his return to late-night television on Monday, receiving a violent welcome.

In his first TV cold open in over nine months the comedian was riddled with bullets in a sketch featuring well-dressed NBC employees toting guns, reminiscent of 'The Godfather.'

After summarily exiting "The Tonight Show" in January the host was back in a suit and tie just like old times - except this time he's on basic cable. The funnyman used his network television departure as the butt of a few jokes: "It's not easy doing a late-night show on a channel without a lot of money and that viewers have trouble finding," said Conan. "So that's why I left NBC."

Conan's new TBS show is self-titled. The comedian quipped that he named the show after himself so that he would be harder to replace.

"Glee"'s Lea Michele was one of the guests for the season premiere and the actress chatted about her controversial GQ photo spread, which some claimed was too racy. Conan suggested that the steamy photos would have been cooled off if a picture of him had been included in the layout.

Tune in to "Conan" weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on TBS.
