Eddie Cibrian's The Playboy Club Canceled by NBC
Eddie Cibrian is unemployed -- again.
NBC has canceled The Playboy Club after just three episodes, TV Line reports. The network cited low-ratings for dropping the sexy 1963 drama from its fall lineup. The program also starred actresses Amber Heard, Jenna Dewan and Naturi Naughton.
Rock Center With Brian Williams will take over The Playboy Club's 10 p.m. time slot beginning October 31. NBC has yet to announce which program will air in the show's place during the interim.
Though the series is the first cancellation of the fall 2011 lineup, NBC announced Tuesday that two of its new comedies, Whitney and Up All Night, have been picked up for full seasons.
"We're thrilled with the creative direction of both shows as well as the potential for them to continue to build loyal audiences over the coming months," Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, tells Us Weekly in a statement. "We're proud of all of the producers, writers, actors, and directors who have worked so hard to bring these shows to life."
