Colin Farrell recently appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to promote his film "Saving Mr. Banks," where he revealed that he actually shared a surprising relationship with the late Elizabeth Taylor.
Explaining that he met Taylor's manager Tim Mendelson in the hospital when his youngest son Henry was being born, and she was there to get a stint in her heart, the two later sent flowers to each other which led to a face-to-face meeting.
"I got to have an audience with her, and that was the beginning of a year-and-a-half or two years of what was a really cool -- which feels like in my head ... the last kind of romantic relationship I've had, which was never consummated," he told DeGeneres.
He also revealed that the two bonded over their shared insomnia.
"She wasn't much of a sleeper at night, like I'm not, so I'd call her at two o'clock in the morning ... and we'd talk for like, half an hour or an hour into the wee hours," he shared. "It was really cool. I just adored her. She was just a spectacular, spectacular woman."
He even joked that he wanted to be the late icon's eighth husband!
"I wanted to be number eight, but we ran out of road," he smiled.
