George Clooney may have won the best husband award (an unofficial category) at the Golden Globes on Jan. 11 with his speech about his wife. But after his heartfelt moment, he admitted he sort of planned it ahead of time.

"Well, I think you do think about it before what you are going to say to 300 million people about your wife," he admitted to reporters. "Yeah, I think that would be really stupid if you didn't. I am having an exceptional time in my life. I am at a happy place. I really enjoy my life."

It seems that George isn't afraid to bare his soul for his Amal Alamuddin Clooney. While accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award, George stared at his adoring wife, saying, "It's a humbling thing when you find somebody to love, even better if you've been waiting your whole life … I couldn't be more proud to be your husband."

And he's also fine with being the butt of the joke, even when it's about his marriage. The self-described "new husband" was skewered by hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey in their opening monologue when they ribbed him for accepting a lifetime achievement award despite the fact that his wife's credentials, according to the the two hosts, put his to shame.

"Tina and Amy kill me. I think they are the best hosts of this show," he said. "I have to take those and laugh at it. Tonight, I thought it was hysterical."
