George Clooney Sings "Sweet Caroline" With Neil Diamond!
Clooney the crooner?
George Clooney showed off a side of himself fans probably aren't used to seeing during the Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills Saturday, when Neil Diamond convinced the Oscar winner to join him for a rendition of his 1969 hit, "Sweet Caroline."
"I promised him that I wouldn't [ask him to sing], but I lied," Diamond, 71, joked to the crowd, adding that Clooney needed help overcoming his fear of singing. "I do believe there's a whole slew of parts for you in films."
"Musicals!" the Ides of March star, 51, exclaimed.
"They're doing a remake of the Sound of Music," Diamond said. "You would look great in the lederhosen. I know you could do it."
Thanks to some red wine-induced liquid courage (Clooney downed his glass and then took a swig from the bottle on the table before his routine), the actor agreed to stand up and begin the duet with Diamond, contributing the all-important "Bah bah bah" and "So good, so good, so good" responses during the song's chorus.
Clooney's hard work didn't go unrewarded following his performance. As the star sat back down at his table, his date, love Stacy Keibler, rewarded her man with a sweet kiss on the cheek.
