Courtney Love and Twitter go together like pregnant ladies and an all-you-can-drink Jagermeister night, and her unsupervised fingers may have once again led her into trouble. On Monday night, she reportedly took aim at Dave Grohl, accusing him of putting the moves on her estranged 19-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
The onetime Nirvana drummer turned Foo Fighters frontman, who has been on Courtney's extensive and ever-growing enemies list since Kurt Cobain's 1994 death and has known Frances Bean since she was a baby, vigorously denied the allegations.
Gawker obtained Love's purported messages, which were posted under the protected account @Cbabymichelle. The missives contend that Grohl, a married father of two, was spied getting touchy-feely with Frances Bean, who's engaged to musician Isaiah Silva.
The "reliable sources" who ostensibly gave Love this information (besides the voices that no one else can hear): Frances' roommate and a chauffeur.
"She was curious. I'm not mad at her," reads one tweet. "Him I am about to shoot, dead."
That's an odd turn of phrase for the Widow Cobain, whose husband died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The tweets go on to accuse Grohl of being "sexually obsessed" with Kurt and conclude by implying that he's a "gross old man macking on Kurt Cobain's only child."
(Yep, it looks like Courtney will miss out on that Mother of the Year prize again.)
Grohl is understandably upset by the tweets.
"Unfortunately, Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant," he tells Rolling Stone. "These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."
The rocker's rep adds to Gawker that he'd prefer the site's original headline ("Courtney Love Accuses Dave Grohl of Seducing Her Daughter") be changed to, "Crazy Woman Says Insane S--- No One in Their Right Mind Would Believe."
By the by, Love directed many of these tweets to @davegrohl, which turns out doesn't belong to the rocker: It's actually a German student who hasn't posted since 2008.
