Did a brief taste of freedom (chia seed-flavored for her, Big Mac-infused for him) not sit well with Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin? So claims the London Mirror, which believes the consciously uncoupled stars may be rethinking the dissolution of their decade-long marriage.

"It's true they had problems, but in the weirdest way this 'conscious uncoupling' situation has relieved the pressure on them," alleges a source. "Gwyneth had ground rules about not immediately dating, respecting each other, keeping things happy for their two children [Apple, 10, and Moses, 8] and communicating throughout, but it seems to have acted as a wake-up call."

Last week, the family was snapped dining at a Malibu restaurant, the latest such outing for the amicable exes. During the meal, Paltrow and Martin, who pulled the plug on their relationship in March, had their heads together as they smiled and looked at her phone. A few hours later, Martin, who has denied recent reports linking him to Alexa Chung, was photographed dining with Rihanna, although sources have characterized the meet-up as friendly more than romantic.

"Chris hasn't moved out of their Brentwood house yet," an insider tells E! News. "They are both still living there and spending weekends together at their new house in Malibu. They both do a lot of business travel, and so there are times when one of them will have the house to themselves. But if they are both in town, they both stay there."

Still, the source downplays the significance of the living arrangements, which isn't surprising, considering that they could probably rattle around the mansion for days without running into each other.

"They've tried to keep things as stable and consistent as possible for their kids," explains the spy. "They spend a lot of time together as a family and haven't changed things since they announced they were splitting up. ... They seem closer than ever."

Chimes in the Mirror's source, "No one will be surprised if they get back together."

Well, one person will be. Last week, a Paltrow rep dismissed the frequent sightings of the twosome, insisting, "You will many times see them together, as they are raising two children. I don't know why that is surprising since they were very clear when they announced their breakup that they were still very much a family, just not a couple."
