Like the rest of us need oxygen and water, Lindsay Lohan couldn't survive without a ready supply of excuses. From the classic "those aren't my pants" when police purportedly found cocaine in her pocket, to the clich├ęd "I have an upper respiratory infection," the newly single actress has never been big on accountability. But then, she's never come up against the fearsome power of Oprah Winfrey.

As you know, Lindsay is shooting a reality show for the Big O's OWN network, but TMZ says she was a "disaster" at the start of production and began to pull her typical shenanigans, including not showing up. That didn't sit well with the media mogul, who has a lot riding on the success of OWN.

Oprah reportedly had "an intense showdown" with Lindsay at the foreclosure-threatened Long Island home of her mom, Dina, and she warned her to "clean up her act" or face cancellation and forfeit her $2 million payday.

LiLo being LiLo, she reportedly had a boatload of excuses for her unprofessional behavior, such as how she's been apartment hunting in New York and how she needed to finish other projects, along with that oldie-but-goodie involving "miscommunications" between her people and the OWN camp.

Oprah apparently wasn't buying any of what Lohan was selling, and reiterated the terms: Behave or kiss your cash goodbye.

According to TMZ, filming has been running relatively smoothly for the last month, but Oprah "is still watching Lindsay like a hawk."

During her recent sit-down with Winfrey, Lohan said what she wanted most these days is "to get the things that's made me the happiest in my whole life back, which is just work really hard and stay focused and prove myself in the way that I did before in the past and lost. I have to regain the trust of people in my career that have their doubts."
