Who among us hasn't wanted to get a glimpse inside the swanky walls of George Clooney's palatial villa in Lake Como, Italy? Unfortunately, one guy apparently took that desire too far by not only breaching said walls but also sampling the Oscar winner's wine stash.
The London Telegraph says a 29-year-old Romanian man was arrested on Wednesday evening after entering the property, finding the vino in a garden alcove, and then attempting to break into the residence.
At that point, a staffer at the villa saw the man and called the police. When they arrived, the would-be burglar reportedly threatened them with the bottle before being subdued and taken into custody. He was charged with theft.
Clooney, who bought the opulent pad in 2002, wasn't in residence at the time. Word is, his fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, nixed the villa as a possible wedding location because it was too public. Can't say she's wrong.
