When it comes to being friends, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are certainly two cool customers.
The duo are now separated after famously announcing they had "consciously uncoupled" in March. Despite the split, they claimed to still be "very close" and vowed to co-parent their children, and there was no greater evidence of that than Saturday when Chris attended her 42nd birthday party in Los Angeles, according to People.
"Gwyneth had a casual celebration during the day that Chris was a part of," a source told the magazine. "Many gifts arrived at the house, including flowers and art work."
Though Chris's new leading lady Jennifer Lawrence wasn't in attendance, the party did feature a bevy of Hollywood heavyweights, including Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer, Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy, Nicole Richie and Maya Rudolph of "SNL" fame.
The party comes as things appear to be heating up for the Coldplay frontman and his "Hunger Games" girlfriend. Jennifer was seen with Chris during a private concert in Los Angeles and hung out with him later that week in Las Vegas at his iHeartRadio performance on Sept. 20.
"Whenever Chris is not spending time with [children] Apple and Moses at his Malibu, [Calif.], house, Jen is there," another source told the magazine. "Chris and Jen always time it so that after Gwyneth picks up the kids Jen will arrive in Malibu minutes after."
Like Chris, Gwyneth may have moved on, as she's rumored to be dating "Glee" co-creator Brad Falchuk. Brad, however, did not attend the birthday party. Regardless, all seemed rosy for the "Iron Man 3" actress. Literally.
Surrounded by roses, Gwyneth posted a photo to her Instagram account with the caption, "thank you for all the birthday wishes! #feelingthelove."
