Heather Locklear may be returning Melrose Place, a source tells Usmagazine.com.
"There are definitely talks going on," the show insider says. "It's better-than-even money that she'll do it. Everyone's optimistic, absolutely."
The insider says Locklear, 47, "saw the pilot and loved it. Hopefully [producers will] figure out something great for her creatively."
Locklear's character Amanda Woodward appeared to have been killed off the show in May 1999. (Amanda was later spotted with Peter, played by current real-life beau Jack Wagner, on a sunny, secluded island.)
The show's executive producer Todd Slavkin said earlier this year, "The door is always open for Heather Locklear [to return]. We're huge fans of hers."
Original stars Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga will also reprise their roles when the show debuts Sept. 8 the CW.
