Actor James Franco is set to host and executive produce a TV show focusing on the art world.
The Spider-Man star announced he will be fronting the new series for U.S. arts cable network Ovation TV on his Instagram.com page on Wednesday (21Aug13). The actor also posted a photo of Edvard Munch's The Scream with his face transposed over the painting along with a description of the show.
In an interview with Variety.com, Ovation CCO Robert Weiss says, "This series with James Franco is the biggest series to ever be on Ovation."
The weekly James Franco Presents will debut in November (13) and will focus on "art everywhere in our lives."
Weiss continues, "The show sees the world of art through James' eyes. All the different exploits that James is involved in, this show encompasses."
Franco is one of Hollywood's busiest stars - as well as his new role as a TV presenter, the actor is a film star, director, lecturer, author and artist. He also serves as a contributing editor for Playboy magazine.
