"Fun, flirty and 40!" That's how Jennifer Aniston is described on the cover of the latest People magazine, which rah-rahs that five years after Brad Pitt, she's "happier and hotter than ever." What the puff piece also should have mentioned: She's more generous than ever.

Following her stint manning the phones on Friday at the George Clooney-organized "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon, where she reportedly avoided a run-in with fellow volunteer Pitt, the actress has forked over $500,000 to the relief effort, reports E! News.

Jen's donation, the latest in a long line of celebrity contributions, will be divvied up among three organizations working in the earthquake-devastated region: Doctors Without Borders, medical provider Partners in Health and AmeriCares.

And it looks like Aniston, a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, among other charitable efforts, is also making sure her typically luxe birthday celebration next month has a benevolent bent.

According to JustJared, Jen is looking to mark her big 4-1 by winging several pals to a "tropical desert paradise" in early February (her actual b-day is Feb. 11).

Among those said to be on the guest list: Courteney Cox and David Arquette, her mane man Chris McMillan and her kissing bandit "Bounty Hunter" co-star-cum-public-flirting-partner Gerard Butler.

But her friends apparently won't need to stress over what to give the woman who has everything (except, perhaps, framed copies of the recently denied Brangelina breakup reports. Too tacky? Thought so).

Seems Aniston has asked those nearest and dearest to skip the gifts and instead make a donation to charity. Not a bad way to kick off a new year.
