John Travolta just can't help himself.
After returning to the Oscars stage to poke fun at his infamous "Adele Nazeem" mispronunciation of singer Idina Menzel's name at last year's ceremonies, the 61-year-old Grease actor made headlines yet again on Sunday night thanks to some pretty awkward face-touching with the "Let It Go" singer.
Just how uncomfortable was it?
Even host Neil Patrick Harris called him out on it.
"Apparently I played with her chin too much," Travolta said of his much talked-about moment during his post-Oscars appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
"You can never play with a woman's chin too much," Kimmel quipped.
Travolta also explained why he butchered Menzel's name so badly the first time around.
And it turns out he has Goldie Hawn to blame.
"The truth is I was expected backstage, and it was getting very close to the time I was supposed to go on, and suddenly a page -- an assistant -- grabbed me and said, 'You're on in a minute and 15 seconds," he recalls. "Later, I found out that my real page was stuck in an elevator, and the backup page [was] in a rush to get me, but as I run backstage I run into Goldie Hawn. Now Goldie Hawn is charismatic, beautiful, sexy, got the amazing thing [points to lips], and I was star struck. I'm star struck hugging and loving her up, forgetting that I have to go and do this bit ... "
Explaining that they rushed him onstage and changed Idina's name to phonetic spelling, he admits that when he read the name at the time, he himself was confused.
"I said, 'Hmmm?' In my mind, I'm going, 'What? What is that name? I don't know that name!' and it was phonetic spelling, but I didn't rehearse it that way."
Still, Travolta says it's all good with Idina.
"The beautiful news is -- and Idina actually agrees -- is that she's had had one of the best years of her life and [in] her career, and she gives me credit."
