"I'm growing, figuring some stuff out, as you do when you grow up," the "Baby" singer told USA Today. "You figure out what type of man you want to be, that's where I'm at."

Biebs has been attempting to reinvent himself for several months now, having acknowledged publicly that he was "arrogant" for a while. He also weeded out a few friends, he said, that weren't positive influences.

One of those people usually by Justin's side for years was off-and-on girlfriend Selena Gomez. The former couple, however, hasn't been together since splitting toward the end of 2014.

"At this point in my life I'm so focused on myself that I'm not looking for a girlfriend," he said. "I'm just trying to make sure I'm 100 percent so I can add to the person I want to be with. I want a girl I can trust, who I can lean on. This business is hard, and I want someone I can confide in."
