Kelly Osbourne Slams Lady Gaga as a "Great Big Hypocrite"
So much for letting bygones be bygones. It's been months since the last war of words between Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga, but Osbourne's new interview in Cosmopolitan magazine could stir the pot again. Asked about her ongoing feud with the "Born This Way" singer, the Fashion Police co-host didn't hold back.
"I loved Lady Gaga. I totally believed in everything she stood for, until I realized she's a great big hypocrite," the star, 28, told Cosmo. "Don't say, 'When you see bullying, intervene,' while letting your fans send me death threats. If my fans did that, I would not stand for it."
(In an interview with the U.K.'s Fabulous magazine in January, Osbourne claimed that Gaga's fans were "the worst" when it came to bullying. "They've said I should kill myself, that they hope I get raped," she said of the outcry over her fashion critique of the pop icon's red carpet look at the 2012 Grammys.)
"You can say whatever you want with your millions of monsters," Osbourne told Cosmo of the singer. "I know the truth. Your bells and whistles mean nothing to me. You're feeding on the freaks and geeks to further your career? Do you really care about the gay community? Because if you did, you'd stand up for it more than you do."
The Fashion Police standout's comments are just the latest chapter in what has become a bitter battle with the 27-year-old "Alejandro" songwriter. After Osbourne's Fabulous magazine interview, Gaga took to her website with an open letter in which she admonished the red carpet critic for choosing a "less compassionate path" and participating in a show that "breeds negativity."
In response, Osbourne's mom, Sharon, posted her own open letter on Facebook. Slamming Gaga's anti-bullying stance as "bulls--t," the Talk host accused Mother Monster of being a bully herself and using the situation with her daughter to seek attention. Later, discussing the feud on her show, she called Gaga out for setting a bad example.
"Don't let your fans be so hideously damaging, hurtful, violent...on your website," she admonished the pop star. "If you are a Mother Monster, monitor it. Why haven't you, as a responsible young woman, said, 'No violence on my website, no violence, no threats, no violence.'"
"All I'm asking her to do is to stay true to her foundation, which she said [she created because] she wants the world to be a braver, kinder world," Sharon explained to her co-hosts.
