While the rest of America was out at the polls on Nov. 4, Kelly Rowland and her husband, Tim Witherspoon were busy ushering in a different kind of change: Their first child, Titan Jewell Witherspoon, was born at 1:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday, weighing in at 7.5 lbs., according to People.
"We are thrilled to announce that today we are the proud parents of our first son," Rowland told the magazine. "We are blessed to report everyone is healthy and happy!"
She noted that their son's unusual name "has to do with the family."
The singer made her pregnancy public back in June by posting an Instagram photo of a pair of tiny Air Jordans. The photo surfaced just a month after she and Witherspoon said "I do" at a low-key ceremony in Costa Rica attended by friends and family including Rowland's former Destiny's Child colleague, Beyonce, and Jay Z.
"I'm looking at my body in its entirety right now, and I almost cry. I could almost cry right now just thinking about it because it's such a gift!" she told Us Weekly in July. "It's such an amazing gift."
Speaking to People in September, she joked, "When the baby gets here, it's not just one baby. I have two babies now. My husband and the baby — you have to take care of both."
