Lindsay Lohan finally got a job.
Two months after admitting she was nervous about paying her mortgage without work, Variety announces the actress, 22, will star in indie fantasy comedy "The Other Side" with Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.
She plays a grad student who, while spending the summer working at a scientific institute on a remote island, discovers a group of wacky locals who are hiding a secret about a tragedy that took place years ago.
Shooting begins this October on an island off the coast of Massachusetts.
The gig is Lohan's first major movie role since the 2007 stripper flick "I Know Who Killed Me," which was released around the time she began to become more famous for partying than acting.
"Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her," director David Michaels tells Daily Variety. "She's really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that."
"The Other Side" has been in production for three years. At one point, Brittany Murphy was set to star.
Lohan, who recently split from DJ Samantha Ronson, has been showing off a super-slim body in recent photos. "I've been eating enough," the actress recently said.
