It's been only a month since Gerard Butler checked out of rehab, but he's already spending time with questionable influences. People spied the Scottish star enjoying a flirty-seeming confab with three-time rehab grad Lindsay Lohan during a recent night out at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
Butler, 42, turned up on the patio of the hotel around midnight and made a beeline for Lindsay's table, where she was sitting with a group of friends.
LiLo, who had been texting "constantly" during the evening, apparently gave Gerry her full attention, and the mag says they were joking around and laughing.
And then there was this little interaction: "Butler kept his hands on both sides of her chair as he leaned in close to talk. She was soaking up the attention and even asked him to come closer so she could whisper in his ear."
The mind boggles over what scintillating nugget the face-tweaking starlet, 25, might have dropped in the actor's ear ("Gerry, let's get out of here and go somewhere private, where we can sexily check each other for parasitic insects"), but he appeared "relaxed" and in a "great mood" while chitchatting with Lindsay and her posse.
This isn't the first time the pair has been spied together. Back in 2009, Butler threatened legal action after a British tab claimed he hooked up with Lohan at a lavish hotel opening in Morocco. Several months later, they were supposedly "all over each other" at a Beverly Hills hotel.
Gerard hasn't had the best luck with romantic entanglements of late. He allegedly had a pre-rehab fling with an aspiring actress-model that torpedoed her marriage, and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville says he warned her to shut her piehole about their brief fling last summer.
Butler was also recently seen in the company of "three young, hot blondes."
Lindsay, for her part, would be wise to lie low for the next few days. Amid continued speculation about a purported hit-and-run, she's set to complete her probation this week and will have her final hearing (on this legal matter, at least) with the judge on Thursday.
