NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Sunshine and blue skies were a welcome sight at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
The outdoor festival has been inundated by rain in previous days but that hasn't stopped the show. On tap Saturday under sunny skies were Fleetwood Mac, Frank Ocean, Phoenix, Little Big Town, the Stanley Clarke/George Duke Project and Los Lobos.
Little Big Town vocalists Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild say playing the festival is an opportunity to strike something off their "bucket list." And, they say playing before Fleetwood Mac is another wish come true.
Fairchild says they've watched Jazz Fest from afar for years. She says the who's who of music always participates and getting the opportunity to perform has been a longtime goal.
The festival ends Sunday with performances by Trombone Shorty, Aaron Neville and Irvin Mayfield.
