Things aren't looking good for Mekhi Phifer. The "Divergent" actor filed for bankruptcy late last month and is about $1.3 million in debt, TMZ reports.
The $1.3 million is reportedly broken down into $1.2 million in back taxes, $50,000 in legal bills, and $4,500 in child support. (The star, 39, shares son Omikaye, 15, with ex-wife Malinda Williams and son Mekhi Thira Phifer Jr., 6, with ex Oni Souratha.)
Phifer's assets, meanwhile, are roughly worth just $67,000, and include a leather bed, firearms (including 1 shotgun and 2 9mm pistols), and a Segway worth $1,500. (A bed made with a leather headboard can be worth as much as $3,000.)
Phifer tied the knot with fiancee Reshelet Barnes in Beverly Hills, Calif., back in April 2013. He's appeared in films "O," "8 Mile," "Honey," and recently played Max in the blockbuster hit "Divergent." He's set to reprise his role in its sequel, "Insurgent," in 2015.
