LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Billy Gardell plans a working summer, regardless of whether his sitcom "Mike & Molly" returns for a second year.
Gardell says he has a "good feeling" CBS will renew the show. He starts a national standup tour in June. The "Halftime" tour is in support of his DVD of the same name.
The 41-year-old Gardell says the title refers to his reaching the midway point in life. He jokes that it was a "sloppy first half," but now he's a father and has settled down.
Gardell's comedy tour will take him to theaters in Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, and other states.
He co-stars in "Mike & Molly" with Melissa McCarthy as a couple that found love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.
CBS announces its fall schedule next week.
