In a somewhat shocking turn of events, Miley Cyrus has been named the worst celebrity influence of 2009 by a poll conducted with tweens and teens. (OK, maybe it's not so shocking when you consider the "slant eyes" picture and the pole-dancing routine.)

Taking 42% of the votes, Miley even beat No. 2 Britney Spears and No. 3 Kanye West (for Pete's sake!) in the online poll. But, why, kids?
"I think Miley is in an interesting space where she is trying to graduate from being 'Hannah Montana' and a Disney channel celebrity and coming into her own and having a career beyond Disney," said Stephanie Cohen, editor of JSYK.com (the AOL-owned tween site that conducted the poll.)
"I think her fans still want her to be the sweet Hannah Montana and she is trying to age up ... Parents are definitely resisting it," Cohen told Reuters.
Cohen also offered fellow teen singer Taylor Swift as antidote to Miley's controversial "not a girl, not yet a woman" antics.
"I think Taylor Swift has done a great job of showing her true self and coming across as very sweet and down to earth. A lot of her songs are about the underdog and teens can really relate to her," said Cohen.
Well, Miley may have gotten herself into a few sticky situations this year, but have you heard about this Noah Cyrus character? We hear she's the true blue pole-dancin' badass of the Cyrus clan.
