The Video of the Year award is always a heated category at the MTV Video Music Awards -- and it looks like it will be again this year!
Rihanna, 24, is nominated for her hit "We Found Love." She is also featured in Drake, 25, "Take Care" track, which earned a video nomination.
Going up against them is Katy Perry, 27, for "Wide Awake." The song alludes to her divorce from Russell Brand. "She's a good person, I've got nothing but love for her," the British comic, 37, told Howard Stern after listening to the song about their split. "I was very proud of everything she did. She's a young woman dealing with the break up of a relationship... which is understandable. It's a nice song."
M.I.A., 37, was nominated her Romain Gavras-directed "Bad Girls" video. And last, but not least, Gotye, 32, bared it all alongside Kimbra for "Somebody That I Used to Know" and earned himself a nomination. "He's a very natural, relaxed person so we never felt awkward about anything to do with his nudity," director Natasha Pincus told MTV News of the Belgian-Australian singer. "We originally filmed him wearing cut and taped [underwear] that were carefully positioned ... still, there were often wardrobe mishaps during a take, but he was so very cool about it."
