Cue the Pussycat Dolls' ballad "I Hate This Part." After five years together, former lead singer Nicole Scherzinger and British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton have called it quits, a source confirms to Us Weekly. British paper The Sun was first to break the news, explaining that the international couple's hectic schedules kept them apart.
"It's not the first time they have broken up," a pal tells Us of the singer, 35, and racer, 28. "But it feels like this time it's for good." (Indeed, the pair broke it off in early 2010 before reconciling.)
Just last week, Hamilton was feeling a lot more optimistic about his romantic future with the former X Factor star. "We've been together for five years, which is quite a milestone, really," he told The Sun, hinting that he wanted to propose "in the near future . . . maybe before we get to six years."
The "Buttons" singer credited her man for helping her overcome a serious struggled with bulimia. "He gave me the courage to kind of end that disorder and that disease," said in a 2012 Behind the Music special. "He made me feel beautiful for who I am and not what pant size I'm wearing, and that helped a lot."
