Former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul boogied through the audience during the "VH1 Divas" concert.
All in good humor, Abdul sported Ellen DeGeneres' signature outfit--a blazer with trousers and sneakers--in a spoof during her hosting gig of the music special.
Upon reaching the stage, Abdul slouched in her chair and said, "Why y'all staring at me? Can't a girl try out a new job?" It was announced that DeGeneres will serve as the fourth judge on "Idol" in the show's upcoming season since Abdul decided not to return to the panel.
On a more serious note, Abdul continued, "All kidding aside, nothing but love Ellen and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig."
Abdul also offered to help DeGeneres handle the daunting task of sitting next to judge Simon Cowell. She said, "You have to call me if you have any Simon problems because I know him best."
At the after-party, reality TV stars Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad commented on the skit. Port told ET, "That was so funny and she was so good. She was so right on about the dance moves." Conrad added, "I thought it was a cute way to bring up something that nobody else did."
The "VH1 Divas" special raises funds for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education.
