Paula Abdul Wants to 'Transition' to TV Acting
Paula Abdul has spent the bulk of her career in the music industry -- first as a singer and choreographer and then as a talent judge on American Idol -- but she now says she's ready to conquer the world of acting!
"I'm broadening my horizons into creating and producing content, performing in scripted dramas and half-hour television programs," the 51-year-old Abdul tells ABC News.
"My love for television began a long time ago when I first started working with (The Simpsons writer/producer) James L. Brooks on The Tracey Ullman Show He became my mentor on the show," said Abdul, who added, "I'm definitely ready and excited to make the transition into acting."
The singer -- who did not specify any acting roles she is currently pursuing -- also spoke to ABC News about how she keeps in shape despite her busy schedule. "I believe in nourishing the body and eating mindfully. I keep sugary foods to a minimum and I avoid foods that are too acidic. Also, I really love making juices, shakes and smoothies rich in calcium."
