Fourteen years after her death, Princess Diana still remains to be one of the most famous blondes in the world. But lest fans forget, Great Britain's beloved royal switched up her locks for an incognito meeting with a secret lover in 1995 -- and Naomi Watts recaptured the dramatic hair switch up in London on Tuesday.
Watts, 43, who is portraying Princess Diana in the upcoming biopic titled Diana, traded her sunny blonde hue for a glossy dark hair color while filming a scene where her character meets up with Dr. Hasnat Khan (played by actor Naveen Andrews).
Diana darkened her locks in order to throw off the paparazzi and keep their relationship discreet. The two dated for almost two years and the heart and lung surgeon was said to be the love of her life.
Prince William and Prince Harry's beloved mother passed away in a tragic Paris car crash in 1997 at the age of 36. She separated from their father, Prince Charles, in 1995 (their divorce was finalized in 1996) and at the time of her death was seeing billionaire playboy Dodi Fayed, who was also killed on impact in the crash.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and written by Stephen Jeffreys, Diana will focus on the last two years of the Princess of Wales' life, in which she reinvented herself as a global humanitarian and was on the path to self-fulfillment.
