British rapper Professor Green has become embroiled in a new controversy after he was reportedly arrested on suspicion of perverting the cause of justice on Monday. The hitmaker, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, was booked at a police station in London and later released on bail, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

A statement from Scotland Yard reads, "A 29-year-old was arrested for attempting to pervert the course of justice after reporting for bail. He is bailed to a date in January pending further inquiries."

The 29-year-old star was previously arrested earlier this month after calling the police to report an alleged mugging near his London home. Officers investigated the reported theft of his Rolex watch and allegedly discovered his car had been involved in a crash with a van, arresting him on suspicion of drunk driving. The Daily Mirror reports the latest arrest is connected to circumstances surrounding the reported robbery.
