Did you hear about the latest celebrity to get killed off by a Facebook death hoax? Turns out the newest "victim" is Latin pop star Ricky Martin.

A horrifying video posted to YouTube on Jan. 3 - which features footage of a brutal and disturbing car accident - was titled "Ricky Martin dead in tragic accident New Year's day," and that was all it took for a fake story to take the internet by storm.

He captioned the photo: "#Sunset in #heaven."

Martin is one of many stars who have been the subject of death hoaxes, which seem to be increasingly frequent. From Jeff Goldblum to Betty White, no celeb is safe from the bored minds of internet pranksters.
