Halle Wins Right to Take Daughter Along While Making Cheesy Movie
Halle Berry just won the first legal round in her incredibly ugly custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry. TMZ reports a judge has given the Oscar winner the go-ahead to take 2-year-old Nahla to New York with her while she films "New Year's Eve."
Berry had originally pulled out of the film in order to duke it out with Aubry, who opposed the move, and her role ended up going to Katherine Heigl (that's gotta smart). She's now set for a different part in the flick, which is a sequel to the execrable but moneymaking "Valentine's Day."
After hearing arguments Wednesday morning from both parties, the judge sided with the actress. "We are pleased the judge took the time to deal with this very imminent and important issue," says her lawyer. "Halle is very pleased with the judge's order."
TMZ says Aubry has also withdrawn his custody petition, which is part of the public record, in favor of a private paternity filing.
