Rupert Sanders is headed back to work.
The married Snow White and the Huntsman director -- who became a household name this summer thanks to his brief affair with his leading lady, Kristen Stewart -- has supposedly landed his first post-cheating scandal gig.
Deadline reports that the 41-year-old filmmaker will helm The Juliet, a sci-fi flick based on a short story by Alfred Bester. (Prior to signing on to Snow White, his first feature film, Sanders had mostly directed commercials.) Despite the scandal surrounding his directorial debut, the movie managed to gross $400 million worldwide, an impressive figure which made other major studios sit up and pay close attention to Sanders' work. (Sanders is also allegedly in talks to direct Universal's Van Helsing, with Tom Cruise set to star and produce, although those rumors have yet to be confirmed).
Since his mid-July dalliance, the British director, who is still wed to model Liberty Ross, has mostly kept a low profile. His estranged wife, meanwhile, seems intent on moving forward. Over the summer, the brunette stunner hit red carpet events in her native London as well as Fashion Week events in NYC without her wedding ring. (A source told Us Weekly recently that the pair, who share kids Skyla, 7, and Tennyson, 5, are still undecided about their marital status. "It's too early to tell what will happen with them," the insider says.)
Meanwhile, Sanders' one-time love interest has reunited with her boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson.
"His rational voice told him not to toss a three-year relationship for one infidelity," a source tells Us as to why the Cosmopolis actor, 26, decided to take Stewart, 22, back. "They have a very deep connection."
