Irony of biblical proportions.

One of the many TV shows and film productions put on hold due to superstorm Sandy included Noah -- based on the biblical story of Noah and the flood, starring Russell Crowe in the title role, and directed by Darren Aronofsky.

According to the Los Angeles Times, NYC-area shooting was postponed for the massive film on Monday in advance of Sandy's arrival; no word yet on how the film's set has fared in the aftermath, but Aronofsky's team had not one but two massive arks constructed.

One ship was being kept inside a Brooklyn sound stage, the other was being docked in Long Island's Oyster Bay -- which was directly in Sandy's destructive math.

The latter vessel (though not actually seaworthy) measured 450 feet long, is 75 feet tall, and 45 feet wide.

Emma Watson, who costars with Crowe in the film, pointed out the obvious on Sunday night.

"I take it that the irony of a massive storm holding up the production of Noah is not lost @DarrenAronofsy @russellcrowe," Watson tweeted.

The film will hit theaters March 2014.
