Is Ryan Gosling's film career about to wind down? Three years ago, the actor, now expecting his first child with girlfriend Eva Mendes, said in an interview with UK-based newspaper The Times that, unlike his peers Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt, he can't make both movies and babies at the same time.
"I'm giving as much to it as a marriage," "The Notebook" actor, 33, told the paper back in 2011 when it comes to his dedicated film career. "I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies," he added.
"When someone comes along [to make babies with] I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that," the hunk said, "I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen."
Cut to 2014 and the heartthrob has definitely been "making babies." Us Weekly revealed on July 7 that Gosling's girlfriend of three years, Mendes, 40, is about seven months along and has been concealing her pregnancy ever since.
The news was so earth-shattering that a forensic artist immediately rendered images predicting what the genetically gifted couple's future boy or girl may look like.
This will be the first child for both Gosling and Mendes, who first stepped out as a couple in the fall of 2011.
