Billboard -- Soundgarden has struck a worldwide administration deal with BMG Chrysalis U.S.
The new deal covers Soundgarden's entire catalog, including the big hits "Spoonman," "Black Hole Sun" and "Blow Up The Outside World."
"Soundgarden have earned their place in music history as innovators of the rock genre," comments Jill Pedone, creative director at BMG Chrysalis U.S., in a statement. "We are thrilled to be working with the band during their pivotal reemergence and their catalog that has changed the face of rock music."
Richard Blackstone, executive VP, creative & business development at BMG Chrysalis US added: "We are so very proud to be representing the entire body of work from this seminal band. We are honored that they have chosen BMG to be the new home for their music, both old and new."
Soundgarden's latest album, "King Animal," opened at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 following its release last November.
"King Animal" represented Soundgarden's return from a 16-year hibernation. Frontman Chris Cornell recently told Billboard there was potentially more in the well.
"I don't see any reason why not," Cornell told Billboard in an interview published earlier this year. "I think the overall attitude about keeping it going and the way we want to treat it to keep it going is really good. There's nothing stopping us from continuing to make records and continuing to play shows, that's for sure."
News of the administration deal comes ahead of the second leg of Soundgarden's North American tour, which kicks off in May 2013.
