Mark Abrahamian, guitarist for the band Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, passed away following a concert in Utah September 2, the band announced via Twitter Monday.
"We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player, Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother," the band wrote. "Rest in peace, Mark."
The band also honored his memory via Facebook. "Mark was a kind, thoughtful and innovative soul. He was also a friend and family member," they wrote. "Mark also happened to be one hell of a guitar player. We are devastated by the loss of our brother and just dealing with it the best we can."
Details surrounding 46-year-old Abrahamian's death have not yet been revealed. The guitarist had been with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas since 2000. He also played with rock bands Survivor, Toto, Loverboy and ACDC.
Starship was scheduled to perform in Orem, Utah, September 3. In the wake of Abrahamian's death, the concert has been canceled.
