Sting has found himself linked to a police investigation in Europe after construction bosses behind a recent renovation at his Italian home were arrested for ties to the mafia.
Six contractors allegedly hired by the singer to complete work on his sprawling ranch in Tuscany were detained by police on Wednesday.
The authorities believe some of the building profits were used to fund the Naples-based organized crime syndicate Camorra, while some of the suspects are also being investigated for tax fraud crimes, according to TheLocal.it.
A police spokesman says, "(Construction bosses) could offer such (low) prices that honest companies could not compete, enabling them to obtain important public and private works."
