Putting MTV's Teen Mom behind her on Tuesday's series finale, Amber Portwood is eager to "move forward" in life and love -- without reality TV cameras watching her every move. (The landmark show debuted in 2009 and the installment featuring Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout and Farrah Abraham ran for four seasons.)
Currently behind bars serving a five-year prison sentence after rejecting a court-ordered rehab stint in June, Portwood introduces viewers to Mike, a new guy in her life, on Tuesday's finale. In the preview scene above, Portwood opens up to her new beau, 21, about her life as a young mother -- and her legal and emotional struggles with ex Gary Shirley.
"I'm not going to say it ruined my life, but it changed me completely," Portwood -- who got pregnant with Shirley's baby, Leah, at 17 -- admits of teen motherhood. "I took it so hard that I was bitter. I want to really move forward and be happy."
Dating Mike while continuing to feud with Shirley worries Portwood, who verbally consented to give her ex custody of their daughter so that a no-contact order between the former couple would be dropped. "He's kind of jealous," Portwood hints.
Watch more of Portwood's final episode of Teen Mom in the clip above before the full show airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. MTV will also air a two-part Teen Mom reunion on September 4 and 11, plus an episode of unseen footage on September 18.
